In his post-session remarks, the sultan urged adherents of Islam to actively pursue knowledge about individuals of different faiths in order to foster peaceful coexistence within the nation. Additionally, he advised Muslims to acquire knowledge about the teachings of God and apply them in their lives to become better individuals.
The sultan emphasized that the annual Usman Danfodiyo lecture aims to inspire Muslims to seek knowledge and share it to strengthen the Islamic faith. He highlighted that the Sokoto caliphate was established on the foundation of knowledge, not illiteracy. Therefore, it is incumbent upon all Muslims to seek knowledge, pass it on to their children, and disseminate accurate information about Islam to counter the spread of misinformation.
Furthermore, the sultan deliberately chose Ilorin as the venue for the lecture to demonstrate the unity of Muslims as one cohesive family. He commended the selection of the guest lecturer, a renowned international scholar, and encouraged all attendees to not only acquire knowledge but also apply the teachings of God in their lives.
