Dee-1 has recently been involved in some self-imposed conflicts with several other rappers whom he has called out for the violent content of their lyrics and its impact on listeners.
Among those he targeted were Jim Jones, Meek Mill, and Rick Ross. Meek Mill responded dismissively to Dee-1’s criticism, while Jim Jones hit back with an even stronger response that some interpreted as a threat of violence. In a new video, Dee-1 took issue with the label of “coke rappers” and used a clip of Benny The Butcher being asked to list his top 5 favorite coke rappers during an interview.
Benny tweeted that he knew Dee-1 was coming for him, but Dee-1 clarified that his issue was with the question itself, not with Benny.
