Four suspects in connection with various crimes have been presented by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command Ado Ekiti.
The suspects were detained as a result of covert information gathering and an examination into the behavior of some gangs that have a practice of stealing automobile batteries in the state capital and other major cities.
The abrupt disappearance of car batteries in the state, in particular, as well as cars parked on the side of the road, malfunctioning autos, and automated vehicles have all been the subject of numerous complaints to the State Command.
Tobi Sunday, a 22-year-old resident of Akin Akeju Street, was apprehended while attempting to steal a car battery at around 4am, along with other suspects who were still at large, thanks to intelligence gathered along the Atikakan and Irona axis of Ado Ekiti by the Counter Terrorism Unit of the State Command.

Tobi who confessed to having been a drug dealer, is the also suspected to have been a member of a cult group terrorising Ereguru axis of the capital along with his gangs who are currently at large.
One Ayodeji Ogundipe, 37 years old, was also apprehended along Dallimore street in Ado Ekiti, was arrested on allegations of attempted murder of Adeosun Olamide who resides along Rose Bud Area in Ado Ekiti. Ayodeji was arrested with a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa in his house while he was trying to escape arrest after sighting the operatives of the Counter Terrorism Unit.
Commenting on the arrests, Commandant John Olayemi warned parents and guardians in the state to watch the behaviours of their children and monitor their companies as the rate at which drugs are circulating in Ado Ekiti calls for concerted efforts from parents, security agencies, proprietors of schools, principal of secondary school and members of the public.
This is necessary to have at least, a reduction in drug-propelled crimes like cultism, rape, armed robbery, stealing and other heinous crimes orchestrated by illicit drug intakes.
