Anthony Kelechi Apugo, the recently chosen acting chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has pledged to offer constructive opposition in the state with the goal of establishing accountability in governance.
Following his appointment by the party, Apugo made this statement at the Ojukwu bunker in Umuahia. He also made a call to former party members who left for other political parties to rejoin the NNPP and aid in the reconstruction projects he has begun.
He said that the party would enter a new era in Abia State as a result of his appointment and that of Kanu Amogu J., who is currently serving as interim state secretary.

The NNPP acting chairman added that systems will be put in place to resolve the grievances of irate members, adding that such tactics would help in membership drive and unified focus. The NNPP acting chairman predicted his party to record fantastic results in future elections.
Apugo praised the former NNPP guber candidate Ukpai Iro Ukpai and other candidates for flying the party’s flag during the most recent general elections in Abia and predicted that Boniface Aniebonam’s aspirations for social justice, freedom, and peace will come to pass.
